Dr. Miyawaki began treating patients in Marin in 1997. Along with his fellow radiation oncologists, Dr. Halberg and Dr. Poen, he joined MCC in 2011.

Dr. Miyawaki came to the San Francisco Bay Area for college and never left. After receiving degrees from Stanford and UCSF, he earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of California Berkeley. Dr. Miyawaki is passionate about improving cancer care. In the early days of prostate brachytherapy, he sought out the experts pioneering the treatment in Seattle and learned the techniques that have since helped countless men recover from cancer.

The recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Miyawaki is most honored by the recognition he has received from his patients, including the Physician Award from the Marin Prostate Cancer Information and Support Group, and the Honor Thy Healer award from Zero Breast Cancer. A supportive partner for his patients, Dr. Miyawaki strives to educate and empower every person he treats. He is widely regarded as an expert in his field with a good bedside manner.

A native of Hawaii, Dr. Miyawaki adores the outdoors. He lives in Marin County and spends his free time hiking, biking and skiing with his family.
